We do lots of awesome stuff here at The Seaside Lounge besides record music. We fix stuff, build stuff and break stuff. This is where you'll see some photos of the awesome stuff we do and maybe some descriptions of the awesome photos.

Charles, Phil and Josh joined AC Newman along with friends Nicole Atkins, Tara Szczygielski and Brendan Ryan on stage at The Bell House on Nov 15 for his first show 3 1/2 years! Charles played drums, Josh on bass and Phil rocked his multiple axes. Learning 14 AC songs in 2 weeks is a lot harder than it sounds but I think it went over pretty well. It was a great night and we've been told we should be proud. I think we are! Hire The Seaside Lounge house band for your next corporate function and/or private party! We're expensive but clean.

This is a photo of Patrick and Mitch working on wiring harnesses for our new Sony console in Studio B (May '07). Our old CAD console used 32 channel DL connectors which are a LOT easier to work with. For one thing, you don't need to solder the connectors. You simply crimp on pins to all the wires and the DL houses them. The Sony uses old and crappy Tuchel connectors which only hold 8 channels which all need to be soldered. We've got about 96 channels of outboard in Studio B. Each channel has three wires to be soldered: hot, cold and drain (ground). 96 x 3 = 279 solder joints on both ends of the harnesses and that's just for the outboard. There's also the 24 track, 8 track, Pro Tools, monitors, headphones, etc. It was a fun, eye-straining week!

We had to tear up Studio B to get all the work done without breaking our backs and destroying our knees. I think we still broke a few backs and my knees still ache...

Here we have a microphone incubator where condenser mics exposed to too much humidity go to get dried out.

David Royer (of Royer and Mojave microphones) recommended this solution to noise issues with our large diaphrgam condenser tube mics. I just made a wooden box with holes on top and use a 75 watt bulb to keep the temp at 100deg for the next week.
